Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: Men will literally become writers instead of
going to therapy.
You might find yourself thinking that as you read some of these, Occasional Reader. If so, the joke’s on
you. I was in therapy before I became a writer. It only made me worse—mainly because I was
given no choice in the matter.
Also, my writing is therapy to me. In particular, it is DIY
logotherapy and Jungian shadow work. Of course, I’ve also tried CBT, but I found the other kind of CBT more helpful.
