   starbreaker.org is for myself, first and foremost: the boy I had been,
   who had needed something like this and never found it. So I built it
   myself.

   starbreaker.org is for my wife of over 25 years, Madam Catastrophy. I
   probably could have done all of this on my own, but it would have been
   harder, and rather less fun.

   starbreaker.org is for Sophie Lancaster, Nex Benedict, Renée Nicole
   Good, Brandon Teena, Alex Pretti, Trayvon Martin, Matthew Shepard,
   Byuu/Near and entirely too many others whose lives were stolen for them
   for no greater crime than their difference or their defiance. Their
   blood, shed unjustly, waters the Tree of Liberty.

   starbreaker.org is for every kid like me who had wanted nothing more
   than to roast bratwurst over the smoldering ruins of the village had
   that failed to embrace them, yet never yielded to the impulse to start
   the fire themselves because they understood that the fire would burn
   the innocent and the guilty alike. Unlike the demon Yahweh, we chose to
   spare the Sodoms and Gomorrahs in which we had been raised.

   starbreaker.org is for the others: the divergent, the defiant, the
   queer, the non-binary, the non-conforming — those unwanted and
   unwelcome in society.

   starbreaker.org is for the trans folks, dead or alive. I am not one of
   you, but I see you. I hear you. I rage beside you, and I say trans
   rights.

   I say this, too: Trans women are real women. Trans men are real men.
   They are, if anything, more real than cisgender people because they
   chose their gender instead of accepting the one assigned to them, and
   they had to bloody well work for it.

   I see them all, and I say that they have every right to exist.

   starbreaker.org is for the sons and daughters of Adam and Lilith. It is
   for the lovers. It is for the defiant. It is for the veterans of a
   thousand psychic wars. It is for those who would dare storm Heaven and
   force God to answer for His sins at swordpoint. It is for you: if you
   dare to turn your back on Omelas, banish Christ from your heart, and
   wear your independence like a crown — then you are welcome in my Union
   of Egoists.

The Armor of Man

   These songs are here for you if you need them. Draw what power you may
   from these. Face your shadow and bind it to your service. Stoke the
   Promethean flame of defiance within you. Forge of your love, pain, and
   rage a weapon before which even God stands defenseless.

   Put on the full armor of Man — the breastplate of authentic pride, the
   greaves and vambraces of defiance, the shield of skepticism, the crown
   of independence, and the lance of passion — and walk tall through the
   Valley of the Shadow of Death because defiance was never our original
