Concerning Trans Rights

Most of the rights transgender people want recognized are basic rights of individual self-determination, and I’m OK with that.

Somebody on parasocial media asked me what I thought of trans rights. This is most likely because I'm not in the habit of putting pronouns in my profiles or otherwise making a public spectacle of my piety in such spaces. It doesn't help that I am still an individualist and a libertarian at heart. Nevertheless, I do support trans rights. Here's why...

The church, the state, corporations, communities, and families have no inherent rights. They are made of individuals, and exist to serve individuals. They are mass hallucations that would dissipate should we cease to tolerate their continued existence.

Only individual human beings have rights. These rights are not God-given. They do not exist by legislative fiat. They cannot be granted or taken away. They can only be honored or violated. We possess them by virtue of our humanity. Without them, we cannot be human.

Your rights should not be subject to debate or majority vote. You should be the captain of your own soul. You should not be obliged to suffer any person or entity to stand as admiral over you.

You should be a sovereign individual; any attempt to subjugate you is an act of war upon you. You have every right to resist oppression by any means you deem necessary. If you must kill God Herself to be free, then storm the heavens and raze them to the ground.

This is no mere hyperbole. Fan the spark of defiance within until your soul blazes unconquerable. That Promethean fire stolen from the gods is what makes you human.
