Web Development Manager(India)
I can’t help but wonder why some “web development manager” from India would look at my personal website and think I’d have any use for their services. Then again, they probably don’t look at my website. They have my email address, and they shoot their shot. If I and thousands others like me don’t bite, somebody else probably will.
It’s easy enough to mark these as junk when they get past the filter, but they’re a symptom of a larger problem: the vast majority of my incoming communications are not from people who matter to me, or even people to whom I matter.
They’re from corporations or people trying to get something from me. This is the case for both email and paper mail, and disposing of such unwanted communications is time better spent elsewhere.
Perhaps I could improve my spam:ham ratio by making friends, but that was difficult and often thankless work even when I was a child. It hasn’t gotten easier or more rewarding as a middle-aged man.
Thus I shout into the void.
